Very well done tiny museum. Yet, it is light in information since, after all, it's only a free visitor center. We'll presented, with Braille signs, well lit. You start by a diaporama which summarizes the life of Harriet Tubman, whose first name was actually Araminta Ross, until she changed her first name and married John Tubman, a free man. You should be finished way before 1:30 hour they advertise.
Excellent time going to the several locations. A little difficult navigating the driving trail.
This museum is one that you want to put on travel plans to take your whole family to visit. The staff was excellent... Maryland's Eastern Shore is so beautiful in Autumn. With it's picture perfect arrays of trees in their Fall colors.
Powerful exhibits that tell the story of Harriet Tubman, liberator of her people, in the context of slavery in the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Sobering, educational, inspiring.
I contemplated not going to the center out of fear of getting caught up in end of the weekend beach traffic. We decided to go, and tremendously enjoyed our visit. Had I endured beach traffic, it wouldn't have mattered because of the wonderful experience of the H.T. visitors center.
